Poker Bots vs. Humans, Round 1: Emotional Control |
Tilt, in its many forms, is poker's silent killer. It can find its way into almost anyone - sometimes triggered by a prolonged bad run, but sometimes just as soon from a sharp, seething river card. At times it may show obvious symptoms - a pulsing vein in the forehead, aggitated facial expressions, reckless all-ins. Though it may also affect players on a subconscious level - that curious call, that tiresome fold. Emotional control is an aspect of the game where poker robots have a clear advantage. No programmers - or at least any from my team - are foolish enough to include the perils of the human mind in a poker bot. As a result, these flaws are fortunately left out of the equation. An infallibly-emotionally-sound and consistently-sane poker bot takes this first round, leaving the humans behind in the fight! Round 1 Winner: Poker Bots
